A Key Association is The Cult of the Eye. A friendly "super secret society" and artists CoOp, "The Cult" does many artful and entertaining presentations at events and happenings. Started, way back when, by FIDM instructor and stellar artist Jason Rodgers, "The Cult" brings fun and entertainment in many forms whereever it goes.

Erics most recent Cult contribution was doing the rudimentary design on the groups Booth for the Tiki Oasis 5 event in Palm Springs. The Tiki enthusiasts event was blown away in the previous year by the giant Fez that was made for The Cults vending of its custom apparel, stickers and glassware. This Year, the challenge was to win a second consecutive best booth award.

It was decided that we would build a tiki hut, complete with Erics largest contribution to date, an animatronic talking tiki head. Above you can see my thumbnail w color and the final working booth.

Below and in the project review, you can see the rudimentary design work for both the talking head(driven by computer with audio and animation by Eric) and the booth. You can also see and hear the Talking Head in action.

The Tiki Hut is meant to be an ongoing project with eventual discharge-bleach printing of its fabric panels and other improvements.

The Hut is portable and sets up in an hour ready to be used as a storage area, dressing room, or vending area.

The finished product and its reception are a credit to The Cult and the prowess of its members.
